Understanding School Distress: A Neuroaffirmative Perspective

Is your child finding school difficult, becoming distressed about attending, or struggling with school attendance? This upcoming event free online event from Family Carers Ireland offers parents, carers and professionals an opportunity to learn more about school distress and school non-attendance from a neuroaffirmative perspective.

The session will be delivered by Amanda McGuinness from Flourish Autism Consultancy & Training and will explore how we can better understand school distress and school non-attendance, recognise when a child may be struggling, and respond in a supportive and understanding way. It will also look at ways we can support children and young people who are experiencing difficulties with attending school, helping parents and carers to better understand what a child may be communicating through their distress and how we can support them with greater understanding and compassion.

This is a valuable opportunity for anyone supporting a child or young person who is finding school challenging, and a chance to gain a deeper understanding of their experiences through a neuroaffirmative approach.
