Youth Project Dungarvan and West Waterford CYP

Dungarvan and West Waterford CYP is a community based youth project which is currently operating from the Dungarvan Youth Centre in Dungarvan.It covers the community of Dungarvan, Lismore, Cappoquin and Tallow.

This project is part of Waterford and South Tipperary Community Youth Services which has been in operation with over 50 years. The Dungarvan and West Waterford CYP aims to work with young people who are experiencing marginalisation, economic, social or cultural disadvantage and young people at risk of not flourishing due to rural isolation, difficulty accessing services such as youth services, further/higher education and employment.

The project provides young people with access to a wide range of programmes, group work and recreational activities designed to develop their particular skills and interests through creativity, sport and recreation, education and development and issue based programmes. All of the programmes and activities undertaken with young people in the Dungarvan and West Waterford Community are delivered in partnership with adult volunteers from the local community
