HSE Drop in Phone Psychology Service
What is the drop-in phone clinic?
The drop in clinic is a confidential telephone call back service provided by the HSE Primary Care Child and Adolescent Psychology
Services. It aims to provide parents/guardians with psychological advice or information regarding a specific parenting difficulty or concern they may have.
Examples of relevant concerns:
Tantrums in young children.
Sleep difficulties.
Anxiety about upcoming
events.
Concerns that can be
discussed in a short time
Who can use this service?
Parents/guardians of children under 18 years of age. We work on a “first come first served” basis.
When is this service not for you?
If you have many concerns and need to talk about the problem for more than 40 minutes. If your child is already linked with CAMHS or Children’s Disability Services
Things to keep in mind:
This is not a referral pathway to the HSE Primary Care Child and Adolescent Psychology Service. In cases where a referral is needed, the parent/guardian may need to speak to their GP. This clinic does not provide follow-up appointment

How to book a slot at the drop in clinic:
1 – Telephone our service at 051 84 2982 on a Wednesday morning from 9:00am.
2 – Press 1 when prompted.
3 – The first 4 calls will be logged and a call back from a Psychologist will be organised.
