HSE Regional Suicide Resource Office – Bereavement Counselling Service For Traumatic Deaths
The HSE Regional Suicide Resource Office provides support, training and information related to suicide prevention, intervention and postvention to communities and organisations across the South East.
The Office delivers a broad range of training programmes and information sessions for professionals, community groups and organisations working with children, young people and families. Training includes workshops on suicide and self-harm prevention and intervention, as well as suicide bereavement.
The HSE Regional Suicide Resource Office also delivers the HSE Bereavement Counselling Service for Traumatic Deaths.
This service is for anyone aged 16 years or over who has been bereaved by any of the following circumstances:
• Suicide
• Homicide
• Road traffic accident
• Industrial/agricultural/domestic accident
• Drowning
This service is delivered by the HSE Regional Suicide Resource Office. Access to the service is by referral from a GP or appropriate health professional. A minimum of 12 bereavement counselling sessions are offered to clients and there is no cost to the client. Parental consent is required for those aged 16 and 17 years.
